Internet Information Services (IIS) is not installed by default in Windows 7 environments. However, it is fairly easy to do.
1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Click on Programs and Features.
3. Click on Turn Windows Features on or off.
4. Place a checkmark in the "Internet Information Services". This will select the Web Management tools, and World Wide Web Services.
5. Expand World Wide Web Services and expand Application Development Features.
6. Place a checkmark in ASP.NET. When you do this, some other items will also be checked automatically. Keep those.
7. Expand the Security folder. Place a checkmark in the security options, such as Basic or Windows.
8. Click OK to begin the install.
