I just happen to have a really sweet broadband connection. I was in the midst of downloading files and I noticed that I could only download 2 at a time. What !?! Seriously, what !?! I googled around a bit and found a tasty trinket that allows you to modify some registry settings to get up to 10 simultaneous downloads.
By default Internet Explorer 7 lets you have (2) simultaneous downloads. Internet Explorer 8 lets you have (6).
Making The Change (the easy way)
The easiest way to do this is to go to the Microsoft site http://support.microsoft.com/kb/282402 and click on the FixIt picture at the bottom. It will run an installer that will make the modifications for you so that you can download up to (10) simultaneous files.
